It's been over twenty years since we were last in Belize, Central America. Much of the
barrier reef is now a protected marine reserve and there are hopeful signs that it's
working. Many Nassau Groupers and frequent encounters with Caribbean Reef and
Black Tip sharks, none of which we saw on prior trips.
We spent the week on board the Belize Aggressor IV. At 138 feet long with capacious
cabins it's a major upgrade from the original 90 foot boat they had when we were
first there in 1989. Food and crew were excellent. Water very warm, visibility was
murky.
I had camera problems involving unwanted water in unwanted places so the photo
volume is lower than normal. It's now in California for service and repair.
Great to be back in the water again after our frantic scamper back from Asia in March
2020! Belize is one of the countries we can easily go to with no quarantine
requirement.
