It's been sixteen years since we were last in the Cayman Islands. This trip was on the
Cayman Aggressor, starting in Grand Cayman and moving on. Sadly we only got to
spend a few days in Little Cayman due to weather problems, certainly not the crew or
the boats fault.
We see many changes since 2000. Several new deliberately sunk ships provide
additional interest and habitat. The invasive Lionfish certainly weren't there in 2000.
The good news is that there is a huge resurgence of large Nassau Grouper in Little
Cayman. There are now some effective conservation efforts by the people of Little
Cayman and they are supported by Reef Environmental Education Foundation, based
in Florida.
