Back to the Lembeh Strait in Indonesia for the fourth time. Still wonderful for the
world of the weird. The creatures seem to be getting smaller or maybe my eyesight is
getting worse. This gallery has the fearsome sounding Lembeh Sea Dragon which
actually looks like three inches of dental floss, with a head. And the Gorgonian
Pygmy Seahorse, described as "exceedingly tiny" (correctly so). Both of these were
new to us. We stayed at the Kasawari Resort, managed by Nus Lobbu, a veteran of
Lembeh who we first met in 1998. It's a small boutique resort, wonderful staff and
amenities. Our dive guide was Ali who also goes back to the early days of Lembeh
diving when fabulous and unusual creatures started to show up in the US dive
magazines that had previously only written about their advertisers from the
Caribbean or Florida.
