Our third trip to the Northern part of the "Coral Triangle",  this time to Anilao. We

stayed at the Aiyanar International Resort, a three hour drive southwest from Manila

(easy, no internal flights needed). It can be a little "resorty" at weekends being so

close to Manila but has a fantastic dive operation that uses fast fiberglass hulled

boats--way quicker than the traditional wooden outriggers that most of the local

operations still have. We covered a lot of distance and a lot of areas. I ended up with

way more images than expected for a nine day dive trip , including many new species.

Thanks to Vernie, our expert dive guide and critter finder. All the staff at Aiyanar

were friendly and  incredibly helpful,  be it food preparation, room and most

important, the dive staff and crews who handled all the gear and tanks. The heaviest

item I had to lift the entire trip was an icy cold  bottle of San Miguel Pilsner at the end

of the day.
